This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced DevOps Engineer looking to move into their new challenge.

You will be responsible for deployment of their clients’ products and services but also using automation and documentation to ensure their continued availability and security.

You’ll be working closely with the development and infrastructure teams across the client’s industry leading high performance on prem and cloud-based services.

You will be using your orchestration, deployment, and maintenance tooling skills quite heavily in this role to produce the best service for your clients.

You will be expected to develop and maintain scrips and tooling whilst managing the lifecycle of the client’s in-house development team, this will include managing deployments, making sure monitoring, and logging are in place, making sure security best practices are always being followed, automating patching and updating cycles as and where needed.

You will be working with the infrastructure team delivering the tooling for managed shared systems and with the development team to ensure the developers can contribute to the pipeline tooling and making sure everyone is using best practices throughout.

What skills are we looking for?

  • Proven experience in scripting/development (Python, Golang, Ruby, Bash.)
  • Experience using orchestration, automation, and configuration management tools (chef/puppet, rundeck/ansible, Terraform)
  • Heavy experience building and running continuous integration pipelines for on-prem and cloud-based architecture.
  • Expert level troubleshooting and systems administration skills (Linux, FreeBSD)
  • You will need to have experience with the following tech:
    • RabbitMQ, Kafka
    • TCP/IP, subnetting/VLANs, firewalling and basic routing
    • SQL/NoSQL
  • Excellent communication skills are a must, you will need to be building relationships with key internal and external stakeholders so interpersonal skills are a must.
  • Great technical documentation skills with attention to detail being important.
